job summary:
Our client is looking for a Business Analyst III Assistant for a 6-mo long contract in Sacramento, CA.
This position provides analytical, administrative, and management support for the IT Facilities and IT Implementations teams. Incumbent is expected to research, analyze, coordinate, interpret, and recommend courses of action on projects in which the department is responsible. Additional functions include a full range of departmental administrative, business, human resources, and fiscal activities, including budget control, and organizational/ operational improvements, as well as project scheduling/coordination. This position will exercise initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems.
Required Skills:
Ability to independently coordinate a variety of tasks and functions; work around frequent interruptions, organize workload and set/realign priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to express ideas assertively, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Ability to exercise tack and diplomacy in dealing with others to secure necessary information and cooperation from a variety of people.
Ability to independently develop and expedite projects within deadlines, demonstrating good judgment and common sense.
Ability to explain, and direct in a manner conducive to cooperation and productive results.
Ability to work within several co-existent deadlines and rapidly-changing priorities.
Excellent writing and editing skills, including use of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure in composing reports, correspondence, and summaries to convey proper intent.
Proficient budgetary skills and concepts to develop and interpret various financial reports, statistical data, and charts.
Excellent organization skills to establish workload priorities and maintain accurate and current records to effect completion of all tasks in a timely manner.
Extensive independent judgment, problem-solving abilities, and originality to successfully complete assigned responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and research large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
Tact, flexibility, diplomacy to effect change and maintain good working relationship with managers, University Administration, and the general public.
Strong initiative, self-direction, good judgment in identifying problems and seeking workable solutions.
Knowledge of short and long range goals of the institution.
Ability to interpret and enforce UCDHS/UCD policies, including personnel policies.
