Assessment ManagerJob Summary : The County of El Dorado seeks an Assessment Manager to lead operations in the Assessor's Office, ensuring compliance with property taxation laws, overseeing policy development, and enhancing departmental efficiencies. The role involves strategic management, team leadership, and engagement with county stakeholders to support effective assessment processes.Responsibilities :Plan, organize, and direct the operations of assigned divisions in the Assessor's Office, ensuring compliance with laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.Establish and maintain assessment roll processing timelines and priorities, estimate resource requirements, and monitor workflow to meet objectives.Monitor and evaluate division activities for effectiveness and operational efficiency, and respond to staff and public input regarding needs and issues.Supervise and evaluate personnel performance; recommend hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary actions; oversee training functions.Respond to inquiries requiring detailed and technical information concerning related laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures.Prepare and maintain narrative and statistical reports related to assessment programs, compliance, personnel, and duties.Resolve assessment reviews and issues related to property tax regulation; represent the County Assessor before Appeals Boards and other groups.Collaborate with systems staff on the design, development, and implementation of automated systems to enhance departmental efficiency.Manage the preparation, updating, and maintenance of assessment roll and supplemental roll information.Manage departmental forms and record‑keeping systems; coordinate use of State Board of Equalization‑mandated forms, procedures, and rules.Qualifications :Four (4) years of increasingly responsible operations or office management, or assessment experience focused on property assessment work involving automated computer systems.Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience of staff.Licenses and Certifications :Valid California or Nevada Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.Candidate must obtain a permanent Property Tax Appraiser certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization within 12 months of hire.Location : Placerville, CA (full‑time, on‑site).Equal Opportunity Employer : The County of El Dorado is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from diverse backgrounds.#J-18808-Ljbffr
