Electrical Superintendent Dry Utilities & Public Works
Overview:
Studebaker Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent with 7+ years of hands-on leadership in Dry Utilities, with a proven track record in any of the following sectors: Heavy Industrial Applications, Traffic Signals, Street Lighting, Caltrans Projects, Municipal Infrastructure, Airports, and Public Works.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience working in the Public Works arena including but not limited to:
PG&E
SMUD
Caltrans
Refinery or Ports (Heavy Industrial Applications)
Airfields / Airports
Controls & SCADA Systems
The Superintendent must be capable of ordering all required materials for Foremen and crews, performing field layout, creating installation details and sketches, and leading teams performing complex electrical infrastructure tasks. The role requires analyzing production goals, generating detailed 3-week project schedules, giving input with CPM Schedules, attending Owner meetings, and maintaining close coordination with Project Managers, Foremen, Clients, Inspectors, and Crews.
Position Summary:
The Electrical Superintendent will work directly and effectively in a collaborative team environment, maintaining daily communication with the Project Manager, Owner, General Contractor, Subcontractors, and Vendors.
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing all field operations
Leading project execution with a focus on Site Safety, Productivity, Budget, QC, Equipment, and Scheduling
Managing material procurement and delivery timelines
Ensuring successful project delivery through efficient coordination and execution
Use of an iPad and Computer are mandatory for this position
Qualifications:
Extensive experience with PG&E, SMUD, Caltrans, Municipal Projects, Airfield/Airport Electrical Systems, and SCADA/Controls Systems
Strong knowledge of: Plan reading and Field Layout
Heavy industrial installations of rigid galvanized conduit and OCAL
Excavation & Trenching methods and equipment
Soil Conditions, Shoring, Dewatering
Underground duct & conduit systems
Pull boxes, Vaults, Backfill techniques, and material usage
Proven track record as a Superintendent or in a Lead Management capacity supervising Foremen or General Foremen
Tech-savvy: Comfortable using laptops/tablets, email communication, and digital project documentation
Proficient with software such as: Procore, Google Drive, HCSS Heavy Job, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
Tools for creating Safety Docs (JHAs), Daily Reports, T&M Tags, and Material/Equipment Requests
Compensation:
$120,000 to $180,000 salary or equivalent hourly compensation (DOE)
