Hiring for Environmental Field Technician

Required Skills

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year of general work experience (environmental field work preferred).
• Ability to travel to job sites daily and occasionally travel longer distances or out of state if needed.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to respond to system call-outs 24/7, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Comfort working outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions.
• Ability to walk long distances across landfill terrain, including steep slopes.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs on a non-consistent basis
• Ability to pass a company baseline health physical and drug screening.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to maintain accurate field logs and documentation.

Preferred Skills

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Experience working with landfill gas collection systems.
• Environmental technician or environmental field experience.
• Experience performing environmental monitoring or sampling.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment such as:

Flame-ionization detectors

Photo-ionization detectors

Explosive gas detectors

Water level detectors

pH / temperature / conductivity meters

• Experience working with environmental consulting or engineering firms.
