Job Description
The MRP System Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely information within the company's Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system. This position serves as the communication hub between Engineering, Manufacturing, Order Entry, and Customer Service to ensure projects, product data, and documentation flow smoothly through the organization. The technician will audit system records, coordinate engineering updates, process sales orders and revisions, and help uphold data integrity across all product lines.
Responsibilities
Enter, maintain, and audit data in the MRP system, including part numbers, Bills of Material (BOMs), and product configurations.
Process engineering projects, sales orders, and basic drawing revisions; coordinate with appropriate drafters and engineers for completion.
Liaise with Customer Service regarding custom parts, special customer requests, and product options as directed.
Prepare, issue, and distribute print requests for manufacturing activities and sales order packages.
Maintain part numbering systems, logs, and documentation standards; assist with investigative or reference data work as required.
Support Sales personnel with questions related to part numbers, unit design basics, special requests, and product documentation.
Assist in organizing and maintaining Tech Services record-keeping systems, including the Tech Services database, ECO (Engineering Change Order) process, and MRP procedural documentation.
Help uphold standards for part descriptions, numbering conventions, and configuration consistency across all systems.
Essential Skills
Experience with MRP/ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite, Infor, or similar).
Understanding of Bills of Material (BOM), part structures, and manufacturing workflows.
Basic understanding of engineering drawings (2D/3D).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Ability to learn and follow engineering and manufacturing documentation processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with ECO processes and product lifecycle management (PLM).
Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Knowledge of part numbering systems and configuration control.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to investigate discrepancies.
Organized, process-oriented, and able to work both independently and within teams.
High school diploma required; associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in an MRP/ERP, engineering data, or manufacturing support role preferred.
Work Environment
The majority of work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting at a computer workstation. Work is conducted most often in close coordination with other departments in a team effort with positive collaboration. There may be limited times when duties are required outside or in the warehouse, for example, as-built studies. The work hours are from 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
