Job Details
Responsibilities:
Evaluate lawsuits to gather all relevant information and devise legal strategies for defense
Identify potential risks to policyholders or the company
Create and execute a suitable plan for collecting evidence and file necessary motions
Get ready for and attend all court proceedings related to cases, including trials and arbitrations
Regularly communicate with policyholders and claims representatives about case progress
Prepare and present legal opinions on claims matters
Participate in negotiation and settlement discussions with external parties
Requirements:
Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Member of the CA bar
Must have first or second chair trial experience
Must have insurance defense experience, ideally automobile, personal injury, and premises liability
Demonstrated ability to handle a demanding workload and prioritize tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
