Job Title: Mid-Senior Full Stack Fintech Developer (MERN/PERN + TypeScript)

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with strong fintech experience to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the stack, thrives in collaborative environments, and has hands-on experience with card processing and banking rails. You'll help us build secure, scalable systems that power real-time financial transactions and account services.

Note: This is not a remote position. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, and be able to work on-site in Downtown San Antonio at least 75% of the time.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) and PERN (PostgreSQL, Express, React, Node.js) stacks
• Build responsive and accessible frontends using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS
• Write clean, well-structured, and well-typed code in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a focus on maintainability and scalability
• Integrate with payment processors, card networks, and banking APIs (e.g., ACH, RTP, FedNow)
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs to support onboarding, KYC/AML, account management, and transaction flows
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to build intuitive financial interfaces
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards in financial systems
• Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and architecture discussions

• 4+ years of experience as a full stack developer
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, including React, Node.js, and Express
• Experience building apps with Next.js and styling with Tailwind CSS
• Deep understanding of MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience integrating with financial APIs and banking/payment infrastructure
• Familiarity with platforms like Plaid, Galileo, Marqeta, Lithic, Synapse, Unit, Modern Treasury, or similar
• Experience with KYC/AML, PCI DSS, and secure coding practices
• Experience with KYC platforms such as Alloy, Persona, Middesk, or Jumio
• Able to work on-site in Downtown San Antonio at least 75% of the time

• Experience with TypeORM, Mongoose, or similar database abstraction layers
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, webhooks, and message queues
• Prior experience in embedded finance, banking-as-a-service (BaaS), or neobanking platforms
• Understanding of SOC 2, GDPR, or other compliance standards
