Job Summary
Summary of Position
The Instructional Aide assists teachers and works with children in the classroom and out on the playground to provide intervention, instructional support, or supervisory services in small groups and on an individual basis. Specific hours for the position will be determined yearly as budget and needs allow.
Examples of Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Aide Duties
Assists instructional personnel with the presentation of learning materials and in the conduct of instructional exercises
Tutors individual students and small groups of students with special learning needs to reinforce and follow-up learning and training activities
Assists school site with the implementation of programs as assigned
Prepares and assists in the preparation of a variety of instructional materials and learning aids
Oversees and supervises students in safe learning and recreational activities
Behavior Support Aide Duties
Monitors and assists in the remediation of specific learning problems and conditions
Monitors and assists students with special leaning needs in a variety of instructional activities as a follow-up to the presentation of instructional lessons by instructional personnel
Confers with teachers and specialists to develop and evaluate individual and group educational goals and objectives
Uses positive reinforcement strategies and other appropriate techniques to assist students in the development of appropriate behavior
Assists students with specific behavioral interventions under the supervision of or with guidance from a credentialed teacher, school psychologist, or BCBA
Observes student behavior, collects data, and reports concerns to teachers or administration, as appropriate

Monitors the grounds and facilities of assigned school campus including lunch areas, restrooms, and parking areas
