In 1986, Mountain F. Enterprises, Inc. (MFE) was established in Lotus, California with a goal to provide customers with top-quality Firewood and tree care. As a small residential firewood and tree service, it was not long before Mountain Firewood (original name) realized it was time to expand. Years later, the business blossomed into a full spectrum Vegetation Management business that specialized in providing services to a variety of customers including federal, state, and local agencies, municipalities, utility companies, timber companies, small landowners, and fire-safe councils.
MFE is currently seeking Accounts Payable Specialist
Job description
This role is critical to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor records while supporting overall financial integrity. A proactive mindset, ability to prioritize deadlines, and commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Perform bill payment functions, including entering invoices, downloading and reconciling credit card transactions, and preparing and printing checks.
Collaborate with team and process all invoices in a timely manner.
Prepare check requests and weekly accounts payable reports to support accurate financial tracking.
Communicate with vendors to resolve billing questions or discrepancies.
Respond to Accounts Payable inquiries by researching and analyzing relevant financial data.
Assist with special projects and additional accounting tasks as assigned.
Demonstrated ability to provide high-level customer service with strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
Three to five years of accounts payable and/or entry-level accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with Spectrum accounting software is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
Valid driver's license.
