The Workday Systems Architect serves as the in-house subject matter expert for Workday HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, and Reporting. This role leads the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday updates and enhancements, manages priorities for assigned contractors, and develops operational standards to ensure scalability and value realization. The Architect collaborates cross-functionally to align Workday solutions with business objectives and supports payroll and benefits processes, including open enrollment and compliance testing.

Make an Impact on the Workday Systems Architect Role

We're looking for a Workday Systems Architect to join the Thrive Pet Healthcare Home Office team.

In this role, you'll play a meaningful part in advancing our organization's priorities and supporting our hospital teams. Your expertise will help improve processes, elevate the employee and client experience, and strengthen the operational foundation of a growing, nationwide veterinary network.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as SME for Workday HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation and Reporting.
  • Lead configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday updates.
  • Manage workload and priorities for assigned Workday contractors.
  • Configure new Benefit plans, maintain enrollment event rules, cross-functional dependency rules, eligibility, and benefit events.
  • Build out new Time Tracking (time entry, time calculations, time templates, etc.) and Absence components (time off plans, accrual, time off, etc.) and coordinate testing with the payroll team.
  • Investigate issues with Payroll. (retro, earnings, deductions, time tracking, etc.)
  • Support payroll and benefits processes, including open enrollment and compliance testing.
  • Develop and optimize operational and technical standards for Workday HCM practice.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align Workday solutions with business objectives.
  • Ensure scalability and value realization of Workday systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday system issues.
  • Maintain documentation and best practices for Workday processes
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, or related field (preferred)
  • Workday certification(s) in two or more of the following: HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Time Tracking, Advanced Report Writing
  • Experience supporting payroll and benefits processes.
  • 6 Years experience with Workday HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, and Reporting § Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in HR systems
  • Proven track-record in systems architecture and HRIS management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills § Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effectively copes with change, shifts gears comfortably, and can decide, and act without having the full picture.
  • Experience managing contract workers. § Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
