The Public Works Capital Improvement Project Team The City of Rancho Cordova has a robust 5-year Capital Improvement Project Program with over 80 Projects totaling over $1B. The Projects are spread across several areas of Public Works including roadway/transportation, alternatives transportation, stormwater, and citywide projects. The Capital Improvement Project Team works to deliver critically important infrastructure projects that support the vibrant community and economic development in Rancho Cordova a growing community of more than 81,000 residents.

Who Were Looking For The Public Works Capital Improvement Project Team is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join the team. The ideal candidate is an EIT with experience in delivering capital improvement projects, solving engineering related challenges, construction management skills, and communicating with engineering consultants. Experience in capital infrastructure project delivery and construction is highly desired. In addition to the technical skills, the ideal candidate has the ability to work well in a team environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for serving the community.

Minimum Qualifications Guidelines Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be: Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in civil engineering or a related field.
Experience: One (1) year of technical engineering experience is desirable. Capital Improvement Project specific experience is highly desirable.
License or Certification: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license. Possession of a valid Engineer-In-Training Certificate with the State of California.
