Description:

Master Mechanic

The Master Mechanic ensures safe, efficient maintenance of plant equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals. This role performs advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and installations across mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. The position also mentors team members and collaborates with engineering to implement cost-effective solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Operate and maintain forklifts and highboy lifts safely.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance using CMMS to reduce downtime.
  • Complete accurate documentation for repairs and parts.
  • Install new equipment and assist technicians as needed.
  • Train mechanics and maintenance helpers.
  • Communicate effectively with plant and engineering teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years combined technical training and experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Certification at 2nd class or higher in electrical, mechanical, or related trade.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding, pipe fitting, stainless steel work, pumps and mechanical, and chemical processing equipment.
  • Experience with boilers, cooling towers, and thermal oxidizers; ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and work in varied environments.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical field.
  • Expertise with PLC troubleshooting and mentoring maintenance teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $36.00-$45.00/hr based on experience.
