For 30 years, our work has supported communities through innovative design, technical excellence, and collaborative partnerships.

We're expanding our engineering team and seeking a Deputy Project Manager / Project Engineer to support and lead a variety of public works and land development projects.Position Overview
The Deputy Project Manager / Project Engineer will oversee civil design projects from concept through construction. This position is ideal for an experienced Associate Engineer or mid-level Project Engineer ready to take the next step.
This individual will focus on design leadership, working closely with Senior and Principal Engineers to deliver high-quality infrastructure and site development projects throughout California.Key Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for public works and land development projects including grading, drainage, roadway, water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
• Oversee the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E).
• Conduct design reviews for accuracy, constructability, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with subconsultants, contractors, and public agencies to ensure seamless project execution.
• Assist in managing project scope, schedule, and budget while tracking deliverables and QA/QC reviews.
• Prepare technical reports, design narratives, and cost estimates.
• Mentor and provide design guidance to junior engineers and CAD staff.
• Support proposal preparation and participate in client presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited university.
• California Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5–10 years of civil design experience with a mix of public works and/or land development projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team setting.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $105,000 – $140,000 (DOE)
• Location: Folsom, CA
• Employment Type: Full-Time
