Overview

Design and develop state of the art microwave subsystems for use in high reliability military applications. Primary responsibilities include the mechanical design, analysis, and packaging of electromechanical systems. Other responsibilities will include manufacturing support, design of tooling to support operations, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  1. Work on multidisciplinary teams to develop mechanical layouts and designs for electromechanical systems used in military applications.
  2. Perform mechanical analyses, such as thermal, structural, weight and tolerance analysis on hardware to validate designs.
  3. Support testing activities to verify design integrity.
  4. Generate detailed layout models utilizing SolidWorks and DraftSight, create fabrication drawings and other documentation.
  5. Take leadership role in resolving technical issues.
  6. Lead for mechanical design, tooling and documentation of high complexity electronic modules, subsystems and programs.
  7. Provide overall mechanical expertise on multi-programs and subsystems, including primary interface with customers and coordination of program standards.
  8. Create, check and release formal documentation and/or directs design staff to execute task.
  9. Provide engineering support to production on existing products as required.
  10. Write-up Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to production drawings, support failure analysis and corrective actions implementation.
  11. Prepare and present technical information to internal and external customers.
  12. Coordinate Mechanical Engineering resources.
  13. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including internal and external presentation skills.
  14. Lead technical portion of proposal efforts, including Basis of Estimates and schedules.
  15. Support Business Development as a technical SME.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or Science related degree. 8+ years engineering experience in a high-tech industry. 8+ years comprehensive experience with electromechanical packaging with an emphasis on thermal and structural analyses. 8+ years intermediate experience with 3D modeling software (preferably SolidWorks) and a 2D CAD package such as DraftSight or AutoCAD. 8+ years experience and solid understanding in the fields of machine design, materials, heat transfer, and vibrations. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US Person under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Salary Range

Mechanical Engineer IV: $140,000- $170,000 annually & Mechanical Engineer V: $175,000-$210,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
