The premier specialist in workers' compensation and a leader in property and casualty insurance is seeking a Trial Attorney to join their growing team in either Roseville or Dublin, California!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle complex cases under the state administrative process (trial level).
Defend workers' compensation cases.
Take depositions, analyze testimony, prepare and file related reports.
Represent the Company in appearances at hearings and conferences; prepare and file related reports.
Research and prepare complex pleadings for cases under the state administrative process (trial level).
Provide advice, training, and recommendations on case handling strategies and tactics to representatives of the Claims department.
Perform legal research at all levels, from advising clients through the appellate procedures.
Education and/or Experience:
Juris Doctorate Law school graduate and member in good standing of the State Bar required
4+ Years as a Trial Attorney for legal defense of workers' compensation claims required
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, in an articulate, persuasive, precise and professional manner.
Experience with training small groups in current legal practices and procedures in the field of workers' compensation defense and subrogation.
Must be willing and able to travel using all means of public transportation, as well as automobile driving, to various California venues when live appearances are requested or required
Valid Driver License in good standing
Salary/Benefits
$150K-$200K/year (based on experience) + bonus
PTO- including a generous holiday schedule, vacation, sick, bereavement, jury duty, personal, and floating holidays, as well as paid parental leave.
