We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Principal Engineer/Hydrogeologist to lead and expand our Solid Waste Engineering Practice across Northern California, Oregon, and Washington State. This is a high?impact role for a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise and strong client relationships in the solid waste and landfill sectors.

Responsibilities

• Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Act as a seller/doer, leveraging existing relationships and cultivating new ones with municipal and private clients in the solid waste industry.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, track leads, and develop winning proposals in collaboration with the Solid Waste Group Leader based in Irvine, CA.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and drive growth.
• Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
  • Serve as the technical lead on proposals, project execution, and quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Provide strategic oversight and mentorship to junior staff and project teams.
  • Lead multidisciplinary projects involving civil design; geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations; construction management and construction quality assurance (CM/CQA); regulatory compliance and permitting for municipal and hazardous waste landfills.

Qualifications

• Education & Licensure
  • Masters or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Hydrogeology
  • California PE or Certified Hydrogeologist (CHG) required; GE license preferred for geotechnical candidates
• Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in solid waste engineering
  • Proven track record in technical delivery, business development, and team leadership
  • Strong network of contacts in the solid waste and landfill sectors across the western U.S.

Salary Range

170k-220k
