Job Title: Construction Sales Engineer

Location: Freemont

Base salary between 120-140k+ commission.

• Projects commission based on executed gross margin
• Commission accelerators at certain thresholds.

About the Role:

Are you a relationship-builder who enjoys solving problems and closing deals in the construction world? We're looking for a Construction Sales Engineer to help grow our presence in the building automation and smart systems space. In this role, you'll work closely with general contractors, mechanical contractors, engineers, and building owners to win new construction projects that integrate energy-efficient building controls.

You'll be part salesperson, part technical advisor, and part strategist, helping customers understand how our solutions can save energy, lower costs, and improve building performance.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, mechanical contractors, and building owners
• Identify and target new customers and markets within your assigned territory
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure our systems are specified in project designs
• Prepare and submit accurate estimates and bids for new construction projects
• Work with owners to gain preferred vendor or flat specification status
• Build detailed account plans that outline strategy, key contacts, competitors, and opportunities
• Forecast opportunities and track progress in the company CRM system
• Ensure a seamless transition from sales to execution, keeping customer satisfaction high

Who You Are:

• A driven sales professional with a minimum of 2 years of successful sales experience, preferably in construction, HVAC, or building systems
• Technically mindedideally with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical knowledge
• Comfortable working independently and managing your time without micromanagement
• Excellent at communicating with people, whether its writing a clear email or leading a meeting
• Organized and analyticalyou know how to assess customer needs and tailor solutions that make sense
• Familiar with sales models like SPIN or Strategic Selling (or open to learning them)
