Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Inventory/Receiving Checker is to check in, receive, unpack inventory, create and receive purchase orders, load skus and other miscellaneous duties.
Duties:
• Create computer generated purchase orders from handwritten pos
• Unpack, examine, count, and record quantities received on purchase orders
• Compare inventory received to inventory ordered
• Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies
• Create price tickets and price product as needed
• Finalize purchase orders in computer
• Prepares reports and/or emails including detailing of shortages/damages
• Help stock items as needed
• Load skus as needed
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in a retail environment a plus
• Computer skills and knowledge of inventory keeping strategies
• Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to operate a personal computer
• Ability to concentrate for long periods of time while maintaining accuracy
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
• Frequently stand and walk, occasionally sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
