Color Designer - Unannounced Kids & Family 2D Project (Disney Television Animation)

About the Role & Team
Disney Television Animation is looking for a Color Designer to join an Unannounced Kids & Family 2D Project!

What You Will Do

• Work with the Art Director and/or Color Design Supervisor/Lead to implement their vision of the color design, focusing on the look, color, and style of the series.
• Obtain creative approval on all color designs created for each episode before shipping to the animation service provider.
• Design and organize work, including characters, props, effects, expressions, special poses, and size comps.
• Prepare and organize design elements and files for each shipment to the animation service provider.
• Ship design files as requested.
• Collaborate with background design and paintings to maintain color and design consistency.
• Communicate with supervisors and other departments regarding needs and progress.
• Follow the production schedule to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
• Use TVA-provided Harmony scripts to ensure workflow consistency.
• Convert Photoshop files to Harmony if required.
• Address and resolve color design issues with the animation service provider.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A portfolio demonstrating expertise in color theory, illustration, and traditional art skills.
• Ability to match the style and color sensibility of the show.
• Proficiency in Harmony, Adobe Creative Suite, and knowledge of 3D technology where applicable.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive and adaptable attitude.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Education
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate in California ranges from $51.78 to $56.65 per hour, aligned with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Actual offers may vary based on location, experience, and skills. Benefits may include medical, financial, and other perks. More info: Disney Benefits.
