Overview

Qlok seeks a world-class CTO to lead the development of Quantum Entanglement Transaction Security (QETS), a patent-pending technology revolutionizing transaction security. Reporting to the Founder/CEO (Edward Robert Starrs), the CTO will oversee R&D, prototype development, and technical strategy, positioning Qlok as the global leader in quantum security.

Academic Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physics, Quantum Information Science, or Electrical Engineering from a top-tier institution (e.g., MIT, Caltech, Stanford), with a focus on quantum mechanics or photonics.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree with exceptional industry impact in quantum technologies.

Experience Requirements

• 10+ years in quantum technology R&D, including 5+ years in leadership roles at cutting-edge firms (e.g., IBM Quantum, Google Quantum AI, ID Quantique).
• Proven track record of developing quantum systems (e.g., entanglement generation, quantum repeaters) from concept to prototype.
• Experience with photon-based quantum networks and Bell-state measurement systems.
• Prior startup experience preferred, ideally scaling a tech innovation to market.

Job Duties

• Lead the design, development, and testing of the QETS prototype, integrating entanglement generation, photon transmission, and verification modules (patent FIGS. 1-4).
• Oversee a small engineering team, setting technical goals and timelines for a 2025 prototype and 2026 pilot.
• Collaborate with external partners (e.g., quantum hardware suppliers, banks) to refine system specs.
• Drive IP strategy, enhancing the filed patent (March 2025) and filing additional claims.
• Advise on scalable network architecture (hubs, repeaters, satellites) for global deployment.

Performance Expectations

• Deliver a functional QETS prototype by Q4 2025, capable of securing a $1M bank transfer in a lab setting.
• Achieve 95%+ entanglement verification success rate in initial tests, per QETS design specs.
• Recruit and mentor a top-tier engineering team within 6 months of hire.
• Secure at least one technical partnership (e.g., quantum lab, hardware vendor) by mid-2026.
• Maintain Qlok's position as a quantum security innovator, measured by patent grants and industry recognition.

Compensation

• Salary

  $200,000–$250,000 annually, based on experience and market benchmarks (top 10% for quantum CTOs).

  2–3% of Qlok, Inc., vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff, valuing potential at $120K–$180K at $6M pre-money, with 10x upside by 2030 ($1.2M–$1.8M).
